When I first started the project i had my own views on exotic pet ownership, I was unsure on the ethics of keeping these animals and what the owners would actually be like. Like with any pet keeping i was worried of signs of neglect or a lack of activity for the animals. But after visiting many houses across England, I have seen a new level of compassion for pet ownership, Lives dedicated to keeping these animals well and safe. The love i have seen for these animals is far more than what i have seen for regular domesticated animals.
Richard Gauci Owns two house pigs, and while on the surface it may seem a strange concept, but in reality keeping these pigs was 8 years in planning, involving pig pens in the garden, registering the house as a farm, and hundreds of hours of dedication.
Whilst there are a couple bad apples in the exotic pet industry, it’s important to bring to the light that these are very uncommon, in fact it’s far more common to see acts of neglect or lack of care with animals like cats or dogs.
